Metal Gear Solid 4 2006 vs 2008 Comparison Trailer

IGN.com has released a new comparison video for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of Patriots displaying the graphical differences between the E3 2006 trailer and the final build of the game. Some of the differences you'll notice include the better texture work on the surrounding environments, character model improvements and more fluid animations overall.

    I much prefer the final build.

    Final build is alot better. Another huge change is Meryl, she looked closer to an anime character in the 2006 trailer, lol.

    weird skew... but still, there is so much more detail. I kinda miss the deep green colors though. I hope there's a spot in the game that boasts some deep color, other than just a lot of gray.

    the new one does look better a bit gray in some parts but as for the old one there was way too much yellow and green colour in there making it look bad the new one sure looks better aswell i think this video must have been a bit old cause if you check the screenshots you can tell theres colours not just gray lol :) anyhow gray or not im still buying it ^_^ its not like gears of war no colours and only 6 missons so im ok with it

    Character moddels in the final build look alot more detailed, i think it looks better.

    Yeah, the final build looks way better. The 2006 one looks to yellow and greeny.

    There are definitely areas where the old uild looks better, with more colour. Though the new one is clearly more detailed, and flesh tones look more natural. To be honest, I'd be happy with either.

    I was already impress by the 2006 trailers, but it's much better now, more natural colors, more details on objects, characters... Really liked how they introduced the Big Boss image on the cemetery scene. Oh, and the Soundtrack (all the music of the game) is just awesome. One of the best for sure...

    game comes out Thursday I have Friday and Sat off! I cant wait Im going to vanish for like a month when this comes out, got my 89$ preorder in, This week is too slow!!!!!!!!!!

    The old one is definately better.....what are you people saying? haha theres more detail in the older one. the new one is all pixely. if thats not the case then i guess it was just the video quality that made the old one look better. So from my point of view the old one is better.

    @LambBeast. Huh? It must be your monitor or something. There's nothing pixely.

    I liked the rich color, shadows  and depth of field effect of the old better. But I liked the textures, characters,  and sharpness of the new footage much more. Definite improvement.

    ok, so kojima already loved assassins (j/k) creed before its release and incorporated it into his game? I see altair in the 2006 version in the back of the truck.....hmm.....

    more concerned with AI. Visuals are ok final build is of course better the first one looks like its through the eyes of a heroin addict

    OMG is June 12th really that close. I cant believe it. That song gave me a metal gear sized solid chubby. Hideo Kojima-San is the ultimate genius. I demand that he make a movie with all his genius. Not necessarily a MGS movie but just a movie

    really there is no way to tell till it is out on shelves. owning a number of games u cannot get an acurit visual of anything without seeing the final copy of it on an hdtv. but there is no way it didn't get better the hole reason for a lot of delays is for visual work.

    The final build looks alot better BUT, for a gap of two years theres not alot of difference really  in graphics.
