A whole heap of news regarding Metal Gear Solid 4 has come out of the Konami press conference at the Tokyo Games Show.
A new trailer was shown at the press conference, although recording devices were not allowed during the event. Fear not, as the trailer will be released over the Intertubes at 10 am Japanese time tomorrow. In real time, that’s 2am in the UK, today at 6pm on the West coast USA, and also today at 9 pm on East coast USA.
For those who cannot wait half a day, PS3 Fanboy has a transcript of the trailer here. The ‘safety's on’ reference should amuse those who have ever seen MGS parody, Metal Gear Awesome.
Also, MGS4 will apparently include an online ‘Starter pack’ mode, where gamers will get to play what is supposedly a stripped down version of Metal Gear Online. A clever marketing ploy to get players hooked on the idea so they buy it? It’s certainly a good idea if it is. But if so, it does confirm that MGO will be a separate purchase.
Lastly, MGS4 will be shown in playable form for the first time on the show floor. Currently slated for a Q1 2008 release, a playable version is a good sign that the game will have little, if any, further delays before its release.
We’ll give you more details on the demo, and all the games at TGS, when we get them.

I have become more interested in this game ever since I have seen the gameplay. I think I will buy this game. Cant wait for this trailer
It seems like it will be a great game but the storyline with these robot creatures seems a little "hokey" at first glance, something seems a little off about it. Hey maybe it will be a good thing in the end, but does anyone else feel that way or am I alone on this?
i agree, wiggs. is this a military game, or an alien game? its kinga got that 'killer rotten tomatoes' feel.

Yeah ive read the transcript lets all hope that no one leaks the ending someday when early 2008 hits. But the trailer i know itll be something epic and amazing. Especially when i was thinking back to mgs2 when olga mentoined to raiden that if he dies her child dies but raiden lived in mgs2 therefore thats why olgas daughter is shown in the trailer. This game will be amazing and by far one of the greatest game franchise forever.
This was one of the reasons why I bought the PS3!!! Big fan of the series!!!! You can download MGS trailers and gameplay onto your PS3 from the "PS3 store" and save them onto your files on your...well you know...your PS3.<---redundant, geez.
aw man two separate games would not be gd. hopefully like warhawk its only about £20 (although a buddle would be a gd idea)

I thought MGS4 was going to include MGO? Why should there be a dumbed-down version of MGO? It doesn't make sense to me.
