Sony is continuing their long stride to gear the PlayStation Portable towards female gamers in Japan, with the announcement of the mint green PSP.
Available February 28, the new mint green PSP will retail in Japan for JPY 19,000 in a continuing effort to attract the female consumer, much like Nintendo have achieved with their DS. The Blume series, as it is called, already comprises of blue, pink, white, and silver models. While the flashy colors are aimed towards females, males will also be attracted to the different colors.
The PSP is starting to come into its own, as witnessed during the North American holiday season, where the handheld shifted 1.4 million units – a huge success for Sony. However, despite the success in the North American market, there are no plans to release the mint green PSP in the other territories.
