Mirror's Edge team using PS3 as lead platform

According to the September issue of Official PlayStation Magazine, DICE Sweden (Digital Illusions) is using the PlayStation 3 as their lead platform for the development of its upcoming First Person adventure, Mirror’s Edge.
"Mirror's Edge is an acrobatic leap forward - and with the PS3 being the development teams lead platform, you'll want to keep a sharp eye out to see how it lands,” the magazine states.
Ultimately, this news should eliminate any concern that PS3 gamers will be lumbered with yet another underwhelming port, as there should be no reason why the game won’t be on par if not better than its Xbox 360 counterpart.

Mirror's Edge is expected to release on November 11, 2008 and will be available on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.

wow, i'm amazed, first Criterion with Burnout Paradise and now DICE with Mirror's Edge. Now i get what Sony was saying, that more devs were gonna use the PS3 as lead platform. But still, the fact that EA is publishing this game doesn't mean they don't suck. Oh yeah, and also Rock Band 2 being a 360 timed exclusive sucks too.

Good news. It's so political, but I might get this game just to reward them. What has the world come to? I wasn't interested in this game, but I want to buy it to help protect my PS3 investment.

we've seen very little of this game for such a close release date! wow, thats 6 months sooner than i was expecting at least! hopefully they can stick to it, bored of the brown that next gen has offered so far. this looks like a refreshing change in art style and if it is as fluid in gameplay as it looks, day one!

Good that there are some dev's who aren't scared by the "oooo~! It's hard to develop on the ps3! Let's not!" But once they got it in their hands, they feel powerful and want to try find out the Cell's true power and show everyone what it's got.
