In an official press release Capcom revealed the sales figures for the first six days of Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G for the PSP.

The franchise, which has been a huge success in Japan, continued to be a massive success and in its first week of sales managed to sell one million copies. This impressive sales number has quickly made it the fastest selling game in the series, especially remarkable since it’s not even a full game, but more of a glorified expansion pack.

Japanese retailer, Sinobi, put the first day figures of Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G at 670,000 copies, including 17,000 units of the Monster Hunter Pack G which comes packaged with a special edition PSP. The amount is slightly higher than Monster Hunter Portable 2nd's 512,000 copies which owns the record for the best selling PSP games in Japan at 1.7 million. Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G looks like it will inevitably surpass this mark soon enough.

and why would they bring this awsome game to the wii, when the ps3 have so much power. Don't they know that 3rd party games don't sell well on the wii

Capcom is really screwing up (or just being lazy) by not bringing this to the PS3.

They made the decision to bring it to the Wii before the industry realized that 3rd party games don't sell on the Wii. It will probably sell well in Japan, but not anywhere else. And it would have sold as well on any Sony platform.
