The decision to introduce an adults-only classification for video games in Australia is expected to be met with additional delay.
The spokeperson for New South Wales Attorney-General, Greg Smith, has said that he will be abstaining from making a decision at next week’s Standing Committee of Attorney-General’s (SCAG) meeting, and plans to wait for the report from the Australian Law Reform Commission due out early next year.
“More work needs to be done on this issue,” said the spokesperson. “We want to wait to see the results of the ALRC classification review.”
There has been no word from Home Affairs Minister, Brendan O’Connor, as to the NSW Attorney-General’s statement. We’ll report to you more as we hear it.
