New Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition details

Posted on November 5th, 2007 at 11:09 EDT
Saturday we gave you some initial details on the Devil May Cry 4 Collector’s Edition DVD; today, we are able to expound on this and reveal just what you’ll be able to get your hands on when the game ships next February.

The Devil May Cry 4 Collector’s Edition will retail for approximately USD 79.99 and include the following:

-DVD feature the first 4 anime episodes
-Making of Feature
-Music from the soundtrack
-Digital art book featuring wallpapers, icons, and screensavers for your PC
-Steelbook case to hold your Bonus DVD.

The Box art features a sleek design that clearly separates itself from the standard retail edition of the game. It should be noted that the special edition is only available to consumers in North America for the time being, though considering the PS3 is region free, it shouldn't pose much of a problem for PAL gamers looking to get in on the action.

Devil May Cry 4 is the fourth instalment in what could be considered one of the greatest gaming franchises. In DMC4, players take control of a character by the name of Nero, who just recently found out about his unique set of powers. Nero is a young knight who happened to be in the presence at the time when Dante, Sparda’s renowned son, brutally slaughtered all of his followers. New to the series is a new-fangled combat system that integrates Nero’s “Devil Bringer”.

Devil May Cry 4 is a Capcom production and will be released on PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360. The North American and European markets can get the game in February 2008 with the Japanese release coming a month earlier.

Stay tuned for more information on Devil May Cry 4 as it breaks.

First off, that is awesome box art, it is so easy to look at and appealing to my eyes.

Second, those are nice extra features.

Third, $80 ouch.

I already posted this somewhere else, but I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed by DMC4.  Capcom cuts too many corners these days and going multiplatform means that their games CAN'T reach the potential they could've been.  I think a lot of people are going to see it this way.

Just bought and have been playing Heavenly Sword recently, man DMC4 is really going to have to up the ante to stand beside this fine title.

Yeesh, 80 for that? I could scour for stores selling it for at least 70.

i already had this reserved about a week ago, I love DMC! I can say with all honesty though, I am upset that PS3 does not get a bonus Blu-ray instead of a stupid DVD. Seriously. Why is the PS3 version being brought down to the XBOX360 level? I mean, i guess because of the PC bonus's, but i say screw the stupid screensavers I'd rather have all the bonus material in hidef on BD! It would be more worth the $80 if they had said "exclusive to PS3: bonusBD all bonus features in HD 1080p." Seriously. Im still getting it, but capcom can scratch my ballz.

A Special edition that costs more than Eye of Judgment??? I think people are right...it had better come with a replica of Dantes Sword or at least a statue or summat for that price...Bioshock/Assassins Creed Special editions anyone?

I'll be waiting for the reviews for this one.  I REALLY don't want some crappy, watered down game because they decided they wanted it on the 3sh!tski.  I'm a sucker for Collector's and Special Editions so I guess I'll have to buy it.

eye of judgement is $70 an it comes with the PsEye. $80 for wallpapers and screensavers? And why a separate dvd all that can easily fit in on the BD.

Just like InfernoReaper said it, I'm a sucker for CE & SE releases. No matter how good this may be, one will always wonder how much better would it have been if they kept it a PS3 exclusive... >.<
