Insomniac Games has given us a little bit more to talk about today outside of the negative news released thus far. Ted Price, President of Insomniac Games, has released a bit more information on what you can expect out of Resistance 2. While some of this information has already slightly been announced, Price goes into some slight detail about it, but nothing groundbreaking.
As far as the 8-player co-op is concerned, Price has explained that this anticipated mode will boast its own stand-alone story and that users can expect each character within this mode to have his own unique storyline to follow. On top of this unique progression, each character will come with his own rewards as well, further giving us something to look forward to in co-op play.
Also discussed was the massive 60-player online experience and how the developers over at Insomniac are focusing on creating a more intimate battlefield. Price says they'd like for a gamer to feel the "battles within the battle" on a more personal level, so each participant feels as though they're contributing in the larger picture.
According to Ted Price, the game is still a work in progress and is roughly six months from being retail ready. This would give Resistance 2 an expected November release window. Here's to hoping it sticks. We'll keep you up to date if anything else comes out today regarding Resistance 2.

Actually, Insomniac Games is one of the only developers that keeps their promises as to release dates. So HOPEFULLY this applies to Resistance 2.

All you doubters need to go get Insomniac's podcast "The Full Moon Show." They already have the game done, in it's rough cut. It's just polishing now. Don't forget that unlike Guerilla, Insomniac is using the same engine they used for the first Resistance, and Ratchet and Clank. It's just advancing and improving the engine over time. They also start working their new projects as soon as one group is done with the current one. That means that artists or whatever, IMMEDIATELY start the new project once they are done with current work. This lets Insomniac develop so quickly, that plus the fact that they aren't "reinventing the wheel" with each new title.
I'm betting Insomniac hits their ship date, no delays, just like they did with Resistance, and just like they did with Ratchet. They have this stuff figured out. If they are EVER in danger of going multi-platform, etc, then Sony better break the bank keeping them. Sony--KEEP THESE GUYS HAPPY, THEY ARE YOUR BEST DEVELOPERS!

Developers like Insomniac are why sony has such badass games. Sony's developers dont deliver crap games with the concept "the first one did good so they'll buy this one because of the name on the box" *cough* Halo 3 *cough* now naughty dog needs to hurry up & give us some info on the new jak & daxter or an uncharted 2 & sony has the console war in the bag
