New Saints Row details

Perhaps the only game to come close to taking the mojo away from the Grand Theft Auto franchise, Saints Row, was a stellar hit when it was released in the summer of 2006. Now later in 2008, gamers will be treated with the long awaited sequel, Saints Row 2 as the series makes its debut onto the PlayStation 3.
Recently, GamesRadar had the opportunity to dig for some information and we have took the time to summarize it for you. Some of the newest elements to Saints Row 2 include:
- Darker storyline which takes place a few years after the events of the first game.
- Customize your characters crib, age, genre (?), and voice.
- Online Co-Op mode which allows players to team up online and run through the entire single player campaign together.
- Improved weather effects
- More responsive citizens
Currently there is no set in stone release date, however, Grand Theft Auto IV will release April 29th. Assuming Saints Row 2 releases after that date, THQ will have to scramble up one hell of a marketing strategy if they want to generate some type of revenue. Beyond that, PSU will keep you informed on anything new surrounding Saints Row 2.

i'll take GTA over saints row 2. it sounds like sknock off game lol. i might buy it just to see what it's like

i dont think gta 4 will be de-throned any time soon. but i may try this game

I didnt like Saints Row, mostly because of the Stereotypical ghetto personality who you were, despite how you customized the character (holding the weapon sideways, etc.), and the stereotypical ghetto hoodrats around you. Seems like this game was sent to South Central LA, and some G's made the story. It was horrible, though some missions were relatively fun, the most fun and hilarious part was sending yourself through the windshield for insurance fraud.

I CAN'T WAIT!!! I played Saints Row on XBox 360 and LOVED it... because it IS a San Andreas knock off! COMPLETELY! Kind of like a street comedy! Hope to find out more before launch though, so I know which system to buy it for! Cheesy or not, the 360 achievements give you a little something extra to play for. I just hope the online play gets a little more attention from the dev. guys. The last one wasn't worth the time online really.

I can't seem to find interest in any THQ games after the craptastic MX vs ATV Untamed and cancelling Frontlines. Probably be too busy with the real PS3 devs.

i'll be too busy playing gta4 when it comes out but with the on-line co-op i might look at getting this one later on! (if they don't cancel it, of course)
