R:FoM, Warhawk and MS to kick off Greatest Hits line?

It's been a long time coming, but it appears that the Greatest Hits line is finally coming to the PlayStation 3.

For those of you who don't know, Greatest Hits game are titles available for PlayStation platforms which have been re-released across North America after selling a certain number of copies. These titles receive a significant price drop in order to convince those who didn't originally invest in the game to purchase it.

Now, two retailers have put out advertisements advertising the same three games, Resistance: Fall of Man, MotorStorm and Warhawk, as greatest hits.

The pictured ad for the week of July 27 is from K-mart, while a Circuit City ad advertises the same games (though without the Greatest Hits boxart) priced at $29.99, starting during the same time period.

This is pretty convincing evidence of the return of the Greatest Hits line, but we should have further confirmation for you when we attend Sony's E3 Press Conference on Tuesday.

    Those red cases are fugly, should've put silver or black instead.

    actually I like the red cases! something different, they will also stand out as greatest hits! Though EU might get silver or blue cases due to it being called platinum there!

    Hah-hah! Odium Generis Humani took the words right out of my mouth. Aside from that, I'm one of those people who lamented over the fact that HD-DVD got the red cases and Blu got Blue. It helped marketing for the Blu camp, but I still think the red cases looked better.

    Red case looks serious bussiness lol, good cover for an game.

    Good to see that R:FOM, Motorstorm and Warhawk up there with the best hits of games.

    Although I dislike the actual red cased you have to admit that they look much better than the PS2 great hits cases. Also, this will give me a chance to buy RFOM finally!

    I actually liked the yellow cases better.  Red is fine though.  I'll have to wait for the next round of titles before buying seeing as i already own all 3 of these games.  Thanks Sony for hooking us up!

    i agree with lozt again. you must cant play cause Warhawk one of the best multiplayer based 3PS on the market. its not difficult to fly plains like most plain flying games or you can do damage on foot or in a vehicle you know tanks, 4x4, and other types. they have 7 big broads and various ways to play each board up to16 vs 16 and the graphics are good they have the basic modes to play. in my opinion Warhawk its not a must have game but if your a FPS fanatic then Warhawk is a A+ game that should be in your library

    Yeah. The only people that I know that says Warhawk sucks are people thats garbage at the game. But in my opinion, Warhawk is the undisputed champ for online multiplayer on the PS3, stealing the title from Resistance.

    i really hope the european ps3 hit games will still be coloured and called platinum like the rest of the playstation hit games here in europe. it's a fitting colour/name.

    @Alti. There is no way to prove that it didn't sell a million because when you see Warhawks sales numbers, they dont count the number of downloads. They only count the BD sales. So Warhawk has probably sold well over a million by now. But I guess we'll never know.

    It's good to see we are finally getting the Greatest Hits for the PS3, I just hope they release something that I don't already own.

    Cool, im definitely picking up motorstorm, and still even at 30$ warhawk isnt worth it.. I bought it on launch day (only b/c i got a deal $45 with headset) and I played the game for less than 3 hours probably like half a dozen times..

    my mind was thinking 'warhawk and microsoft' for a while there, made my head spin a bit! looks like left-over hd-dvd covers for sure!

    I don't so much mind the red cases because (aside from ps1) it's the color of their GH line. I just wished they didn't tamper with the artwork. Whoever said "sore thumb" was dead on.
