Real-time Final Fantasy XIII images emerge

New real-time (rendered using the game engine) video of Final Fantasy XIII recently appeared on the TV Tokyo channel in Japan.
Some early development FFXIII footage rolled as Square Enix president YĆichi Wada discussed the game's current progress. A viewer captured these images from the program (likely by taking images of the TV screen, which accounts for the sub-par quality of the shots). Rendered using the highly-acclaimed Crystal Tools, these images depict Nomchan, a character exiled by Cocoon's dictatorial government.
Once again, these low resolution shots don't represent the visual quality of the game, they simply serve as a "suggestion" of sorts. The third screen is the only one that hints at the immaculately crafted detail in the game. Anyway, enough disclaimers; the images are below.

Clover: The article says the images don't represent the quality of the game. You gotta read.

Ok people, this is a video capture off a television set so yeah its gonna look kinda wonky, but the eyeball one gives u an idea of the detail. If you want a real in-battle non-cg-movie shot go here:

square always wanted to go multiplatform(i find it hard to think that they didnt, blu-ray DVD issue-it shouldnt have been able to fit on a DVD if made soley for Bluray/PS3), although i will say this, game looks amazing from these shots(last one in particular). but im afraid im not gunna get it.

I thinks its funny that people are talking about passing this title up just because it went multi-platform. If thats the case than you obviously aren't a fan of the franchise, because regardless of which system(s) it's available on it's going to be good. It's kinda sad that this generations popularity contest is more about politics than fun games. Thank god for the PC, because this stupid fanboyism doesn't exist in that realm of gaming.

Nice 2D hair and flat textured skin.. Where are the skin pores, the creases in the face?
Which begs the question.. Why not show us something that DOES represent the visual quality of the game.. Idiots.

there are great difference from wat i have seen in the stupid trailers and the actual game in the term of graphic and quailty look and see where are the realistic CG graphics shown in tgs 2006 and the same apply for versus 13 go and check ign images and you will see.

I believe that if they truly make a PS3 version first, and then port whatever they can to the Xbox, this game would look better. Like FF Versus does (up to now). Heavy Rain's images show more detail and realism than theese do.

@ FreeAgent
Its not about not beeing fan of the serie, its more about Wondering About the quality of the title now that it is Multi-platform. I will pass that game if i feel for one second that it doesnt utilise blue ray and the advantages of the ps3 to its fullest like an exclusive would do (use of the HDD and the major space advantage and why not kool physiq interactions and lotsa enemies on screen same time thx to cell?). I only buy exclusives because they are the best top notch quality games. (Only disapointment so far was haze wich i did not buy) The rest i leave for rent expet for a few exeptions like fighting games or sports games. I love final fantasy for its great quality but all the great FF were exclusives or like 1yr + timed exclusives. So makes you wonder if this one will still be worth it.

I'm going to get flamed, but if THIS is hat we get after being dumped and sold to MS...Wow SE, getting better aren't we? I lost all faith in these guys once they started who*ing the damned franchise. They should've stayed with numbered FFs and leave all spin-offs INCLUIDING FFVII. Their games are getting a lot of ok reviews, but not awesome. Wish SE split and left Squaresoft back on business again.
I know screens are early, but they make the game no justice at all.

Looks like alot of the haters are skipping the text to look at the images. >_< These are not the final renders as it was used in a presentation focusing on the engine instead. I can't believe that so many are judging these screens as if they are taken from the game O.o
@PSU: like Dave_the_rave said a few posts above, be careful with what you post. Unfortunately many readers lack common sense.

Looks alright, i wont be getting it though, not unless i see a alot of improvement from 12, which was really quite lame. With 10 and 11 a dissapointment square has pretty much dropped the ball. Rpgs are more like mmo's these days, with zones and dungeons, where are the world maps we so long for *cries*. Think ill be better picking up White Knight Chronicles from Level 5. As the say, when companys merge.... like square and enix... the result is... less then poor >.<.
