THQ has unleashed a new trailer for its upcoming Geo-Mod-fuelled action sequel, Red Faction: Guerrilla.

Unlike previous instalments in the Volition-developed shooter, Guerrilla shifts perspectives to a third person viewpoint, with the action taking places 50 years after the original title. Fans of the series can expect a healthy dose of brick busting action, as you wield the power to destroy virtually any part of the environment at your discretion.

Check out the trailer below.

Red Faction: Guerrilla is due out on PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 in Q2 2009.

Cartoony, and looks like its going to be dependant on one gameplay mechanic alone. I am not sure, I cannot really judge till game comes out though.

This game looks set to be the new definition FPS. If the destruction system which uses an inbuilt stress system is as accurate as they say it will be, this will be a new feature you find in a lot of games. Look at ragdoll physics.

With a dash of politics thrown into the mix, this may make it an enjoyable addition or a quicksand for fun and a breeding ground for cheese and corn.

This could be good, considering as mentioned the new destruction system being designed. Its designed in a way that mimmicks real life stresses on structures due to size, shape, weight (perceived) and changes to that structure ( big caps caused by explosions).

The visuals are the least of my concerns...it will look much better than this when released ( I assume). The problem Red Faction always had was with its AI. If they solve that issue, then it could very well be a very good game.

If they do not...then it would need to have an interesting multi-player ( online) to have any hope of success IMO.

Yeah... It looks cartonny but it has a lot of potential. As somebody said, gameplay will be the key point for this tittle.

I'm not really sure how i feel about this, i mean to me Red Facton as always been a hardcore FPS where anything goes and i'm not really that impressed with how the gameplay looked for this one.
