Ryan Payton has left Kojima Productions to pursue a career in North America.
For those of you who don't know, Ryan Payton was the assistant producer on Metal Gear Solid 4. He was the one who initiated them move to a more Western-oriented MGS4, complete with a Western-friendly control scheme, camera, aiming mechanics and more. So what does this move mean for the future of Metal Gear Solid and Ryan Payton? The man himself sat down with Kotaku to talk about the move.
"I went back home to my family's place in Washington state and literally three weeks after MGS4 launched we were hit with some pretty heavy news concerning my mom," commented Payton. "So this past month I decided to leave Kojima Productions and look to continue my career working closer to my family in North America."
"It's not easy leaving my other family (the MGS team), but with everybody taking time off and not having any other big projects to shift focus to, it feels like this is how it's supposed to be. It's fate."
Payton then mentioned the inevitable MGS5.
"It'll be hard not being involved in MGS5," said Payton, "but I've got the utmost confidence that Hideo Kojima, Ken Imaizumi, and our amazing team will put together another blockbuster game. I'll be cheering from the sidelines."
And what of Payton's future?
"Word travels fast, so I've been getting a lot of great offers lately. But the plan is to take it easy, spend time with my family, and carefully decide where I land next."

it's sad to see him go, but he always made mistakes saying if the green bay packers won against the seattle sea hawks he would give out big news about the game. but, MGS5 will still be awesome and hope he finds something else with sony. it should be good to see even a teaser trailer for Metal Gear Solid 5: without solid snake?

@11
thats for real. Anytime that family is involed you have to sit back and enjoy the time you have with them. You only have one mother and one father, so you have to take the time out to be with them. The last thing on my mind would be to talk about games. Everbody above post #11 was talking about where he should go and not go. Its cool, kids will be kids until life slap em in the face. But I hope that your mother makes it all the way.
