Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) announced today that it has appointed three new executives to augment the company’s publisher relations, sales and HR departments.
The platform holder revealed that Rob Dyer has been appointed as Senior Vice President of Publisher Relations, along with Ian Jackson and Sally Buchanan as Vice President of Sales and Vice President of Human Resources, respectively.
All three individuals bring a combined total of nearly 50 years worth of experience in the games industry, and will report directly to SCEA President and CEO, Jack Tretton.
"Rob Dyer, Ian Jackson and Sally Buchanan's proven records of strategic leadership and innovation, combined with their extensive industry experience re-enforce their new roles as a great fit for our organization," Tretton commented.
“These three appointments augment an already strong executive staff at SCEA and provide the company with additional leadership to focus on key relationships with some of the most important constituencies, our publishing partners, retail community, and internal employees, as we continue to build on the momentum generated in early 2008 by the PlayStation family of products."
As the former President of Eidos Interactive and Crystal Dynamics, Dyer’s duties will consist of overseeing strategic co-marketing programmes, in addition to the execution of strategy for SCEA’s partnerships with external developers and publishers.
Jackson, meanwhile, who is the former Managing Director for Sony Computer Entertainment Canada, will be tasked with strategic sales and promotional initiatives across all four PlayStation platforms in the US.
Lastly, Buchanan, who has been with SCEA since 1994, will be in charge of overseeing various HR initiatives, such as career planning, leadership development and talent acquisition.

hopefully mixing it up like this will bring desireable results im anxious to see what they can do.
so what!
I think this is good news because the battle is definately more of an issue in America. Looking at the experience is good news too so that people like DNA, Ricey,& Fingal wont even bother commenting on this kind of info because they Will be playing their Great games. Of course due to better relations with 3rd party developers and internal employees as well. (Not a diss to above mentioned, definately keep posting, just maybe it will all be just about the games) 2008 for Sony is only the beginning!
Dyer better get his *** in gear and start talking to publishers. We want games.
