Namco Bandai Games Director Katsutoshi Sasaki has confirmed to us that the PlayStation 3 version of the upcoming Soul Calibur IV is running on par with its Xbox 360 counterpart.
Earlier this year, hands on previews reported that the PS3 version of the game had some “significant slowdown." However, after a few extra months of development, Sasaki assured us that both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions are identical.
"There is no difference," said Sasaki. "At the first stage of development, the goal was to have no gameplay differences on either hardware and our programmers actually made it come true. Quite frequently, we forget and grab the wrong controller when looking at the screen."

With both versions of the highly anticipated fighter now running on par with each other, this now begs the question as to what the deciding factor will be when it comes to picking up your copy of the game.
If the rumors of Kratos appearing in the PS3 release are indeed true, however, then we wouldn’t be surprised if this swayed many gamers into picking up the game for Sony’s latest home console.
Stay tuned for our full interview with Sasaki in the very near future.

i agree with ''markwesker'' there isn't know excuse for these dev not to make ps3 games bigger and better then crapbox. they have a chance to design a game of there dream and they wont take the time to learn the cell chip and then have a 50gb to add all types of effects and bigger worlds and more levels. now that MGS4 is out now they see the power of cell and ps3

I'll believe it when I see it. They can't even grab the right controller, what makes them think both versions are equal? (Yeah I know it was a joke.)

This is surprising. What I have seen on multiplateform games this far is the 360 versions having better graphics than the ps3 version. This news isn't good though, the ps3 version had to be better. What ever the case I am in for some slicing with my favourite Cervantes.

@4 agreed. kind of a slap in the face. i feel like when development isn't focused on the ps3, the product will be inferior to ps3 exclusives. so what is our recourse? don't buy multi platform games? sure, but they'll just continue thinking the ps3 isn't hot property. sigh. plz devs make our ps3 games better like they should be, and port down from that. just like arcade->console ports used to be. but yeah, free online, possibly kratos? get on par with that M$.

What a miracle, a ps3 game on par with the xbox 360 version.
