Sega expresses interest in Valkyria Chronicles sequel

Valkyria Chronicles, like many obscure Japanese games before it, was critically lauded but sold very poorly in regions outside Japan. The unique strategy RPG has acquired a cult following, and for good reason -- the game is incredible. This is why we were elated to hear that the game might get a sequel.

Nonaka Ryutaro, Valkyria Chronicles producer, spoke to Famitsu about his interest in creating a second Valkyria Chronicles game. Pleased with the Japan's reception of the Valkyria Chronicles and excited about upcoming anime, Ryutaro said that he hopes to create a proper sequel, as he doesn't want to abandon the series after a single game.

With such a solid gameplay basis in place, there's no imagining where a sequel could take us. Gamers, don't let this go unnoticed: support great original games. If you don't, who will?

    VC deserves a sequel, without a doubt it was one of the greatest gaming experiences for me this gen.

    i assisted the anime is great as the game of ps3... i recomend everyone watch the anime.

    Thumbs up from me SEGA.  Just green-light it when the idea comes up.   This game greatly restored a lot of my respect towards SEGA, after a lot of it was lost on the Sonic trash.  They already got the engine built, so they might as well use it, since anything else they make with it will be cheaper this time around.

    Please make it happen Sega... Skies of Arcadia 2 is no where to be seen... give us at least Valkyria 2...

    Might be a sequal? I just finished Chapter 12, and I want one. I really hope they do follow through. This is a truly solid experience for me.
