Straight from Kaz Hirai's TGS 2007 keynote is the news that two development studios have been taken under Sony's first-party wing.
First off, BigBig studios has been acquired. They're known for such titles as their Pursuit Force series.
The second development studio that Sony has acquired are the Motor-riffic folks behind one of PlayStation 3's most popular titles, MotorStorm. With more than a million copies sold thus far, it'll be really exciting to see what Evolution Studios has up their sleeve for the coming year.
More news from TGS 2007 on the way shortly.

Motorstorm is light weight in my humble opinion but Big Big Studio's Pursuit Force is a fair PSP game. What's the bet Sony want to chase the space dominated by Criterion's Burnout series. I love Burnout Revenge most of all. Sony really should have locked those guys into PS3 exclusive - Burnout Paradise and the amazing Flatout Ultimate Carnage are both certified console sellers.
The reason Burnout is so popular is that people are sick of these stupid racing games with no proper car or environmental damage. They suck. People like racing, speed and wreckage. I love the pyrotechnics of blowing up my car and about a half dozen others in my facinity!!! If I hit a wall doing 220kph I dont expect to bump off. If I hit a stray cow or a silly pedestrian at that speed I expect to see some Car-Carnage!!!

That is what Sony should do,increase their first party.Because they are the ones who really deliver true AAA games, except for Kojima san of course.

That's odd I thought SOny own Evolution studios already? BigBig is kinda a surprise, as I figured they also were already a sony owned studio but even if they werent I figured they were too small to do anything but PSP titles and the occasional PS2 game. Now I'm kinda wondering what the deal is with ReadyatDawn are they owned by sony?
