April Fools is a shoddy day to report on news because you never really know if something is legitimate or not. Today, Sony sent out an official press release announcing a new Jak and Daxter title, The Lost Frontier. While this is something a lot of gamers have been clamoring for, it’s also going to be followed by a lot of groaning and disappointment. We assure you that this isn’t a joke: The Lost Frontier is in development for the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable only.
Gamers can expect to take on the Lost Frontier in an efforts to help Kiara become a sage in order to save the world from darkness. J&D fans can expect to take to the air in this adventure as battling sky pirates is a large emphasis within the release. The Gunstaff — which is a powerful transforming weapon — will be your ultimate weapon throughout the game.
The developers behind Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, High Impact Games, are developing this last title in the Jak and Daxter trilogy. We have high expectations for the game, but of course we would have liked to see it on the PlayStation 3. Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier will be available on the PS2 and PSP in Autumn 2009.
