Stranglehold delayed on PS3

Stranglehold will miss its original release date on PS3, and instead arrive three weeks later on September 17.

The Xbox 360 and PC editions will still be released on August 27.

Although game delays have been a common occurence since the PS3's launch, this one may be a little more frustrating. Stranglehold on PS3 is arguably the superior version as it comes packaged with John Woo's Hard Boiled movie, remastered in high definition.

A demo of Stranglehold will be available on Xbox Live and PC in early August. When it will be available on PlayStation Store is still a mystery, but we expect late August or early September.

Stay tuned to PSU for more soon.

This is good news.  I sincerely hope this trend continues.  Delay games, see if I care, but if it dosent deliver after a delay, then thats the devs fault, a delay gives them more time to iron things out.  I am sure the delay will make it worth it, if the game is worth a damn.  But think of it this way, we get to see what Xbots think of it before we run out and pay 60 dollars for it, they may say it was crap, some people may play it, decide its crap and not bother buying it for PS3.

Only reason that this happens is because all the developement bugs haved been ironed out for the other systems so given time these problems won't happen in the future when better kit's have been made.

This may just be my personal opinion, but just because one comes with a movie does not make it the more superior package. I want superior gameplay and superior graphics.

uuhhh 3 weeks delay, let us cry.
Come on people, are you really that sad?  It's not like there aren't 3rd Person Shooters to kill time with until this game comes out.

Don't get frustrated. This is likely because Epic and Sony have recently updated Unreal Engine 3. I was hoping they would do this very thing to improve the graphics and frame rate. Being 3 months late with a visually superior game is worth it imo.

This is starting to get really old... not that I even wanted this game to begin with, but its beside the point. If they keep delaying PS3 releases then these developers are gonna start getting letterbombs and virus-emails though.. god dammit.

Midway has stated that they are working on the demo now, it is fact that it is more simple to build on the 360 (not as many options available). Also, 3 weeks is a short push, could be a small bug, but bugs rarely get precise push back dates. Also, disc take time to burn, and they are printing millions. So this can be a delay because the PS3 version has a lot more to burn to disc which can add a lot of time to printing. Also it has been said that the PS3 version is visually better.

Reserve judgement till it comes out. If the game is better due to a small delay (it's only a few weeks) then so much the better. Again, with U3 engine which Sony is working on with Epic doesn't it sound like this may be a delay due to something good? Like better optimization? Again, we'll see when it comes out, but I for one would rather have a superior product. I wish they'd delayed Madden to get everything equaled out. I would respect EA a lot more that way. No reason the PS3 version of games should suffer at all. I APPLAUD developers who don't rush their products and I will BUY THEIR GAMES when they do it RIGHT!
