Tecmo developing new shooter for PS3

The latest issue of Japan’s Famisu Magazine is reporting that Tecmo are currently working on a brand new third-person shooter for Sony’s PlayStation 3 console.

Known as Quantum Theory, the game centres on a supposedly “dark hero” named Sid, who is accompanied by his rebellious sidekick, Filerna. The game is being headed by Keisuke Kikuchi, who has previously worked on the Fatal Frame series.

Unfortunately that’s all we have to go on right now, though you can expect substantial details to emerge over the next few days as the Tokyo Game Show gets underway.

    Yawn bl00dy yawn ANOTHER SHOOTER................we really do need some more shooters, they are a bit thin on the ground.

     Thats exactly what i had in mind gentlemen, until i stumbled upon the link below. After seeing the theme, concept and art direction. I was forced to change my mind. If this game plays as good as it looks, then we might have a killer exclusive on our hands.

    they always say that 360 has lots of shooters, but if go to my gameshop, the PS3 shelf is loaded with shooters...

    we need more adventures, rpg's, puzzles....

    Hope this game will be up to standard. If it equals the mighty Gears of War or goes beyond it then i will be very pleased and i will be a sure buyer for this game.Show me what u have got Tecmo, apart from Ninja Gaiden n Fatal Frame, what else do u know???

    I've seen the link '5' posted and it looks really promissing. Tho, I tend to agree with '6'. We lack on adventures and rpgs (I really don't mind on puzzles). In fact there're a lot of shooters for PS3, most of them are pretty bad, but they're there.

    What a bunch of maroons!

    This looks great and it's hardly your average dull grey western shooter, you need to actually SEE what the game is before rejecting it to that pile. Give me strength.

    Oh great, I was loooking forward to another shooter. I only have played over 1,000 of them and own about 10 of them between pc and console. Moving on..

    Shadows of the colossus is not an RPG its an action adventure game.

     

    And for all those complaining about shooters I understand but stop and think about how many Japanese shooters there are. I am curious to say the least.

    They'll probably announce plans for multiplat at TGS. At least if M$ has anything to say about it.
