Tekken 6 goes multiplatform

Namco Bandai has confirmed that the hotly anticipated Tekken 6 will be putting in an appearance on the Xbox 360 .
News comes following the company’s press conference at the Tokyo Game Show yesterday, where it was reconfirmed that the title would still be appearing on Sony’s black box, despite the game also taking up residence on Microsoft’s machine.
As for when the game’s actually going to be available on home consoles? Not until this time next year, unfortunately, so we’ve still got a fair bit of waiting to do.
For those out of the loop, Tekken 6 focuses on Jin Kazama’s reign over the Mishima Zaibatsu, who organises the 6th iteration of the King of Iron First Tournament to lure his enemies out of hiding – namely, his dodgy old grandfather, Heihachi, along with his psychotic father, Kazuya.

In an ideal world, we'd get Dead or Alive appearing on the ps3, but I highly doubt that will happen. That said, none of us expected Tekken to go over to the Xbox so...you never know.

This is horrible man... i can't believe they are doing this again...just like they did with Final Fantasy... what will come next ?? God of War ?? i don't want any exclusives from xbox... why in the name of God are they stealing our exclusives ?? i had high hopes for tekken 6 and i've been expecting this game for like 2 years... Now it's just a huge dissapointment... i'm not even Gonna buy it now... i'll stick with Soul Calibur because i never expected Soul Calibur to be an exclusive...

@#5...Why on earth wouldn't you want some of the 360 eclusives? Some of the exclusive games for the 360 are boss...The obvious ones like gears of war and fable spring to mind but ven games like infinite undiscovery...thats why i got a 360 as well...so i can play ALL the great games that come out...

ah well..id love to see ANYONE play it with the 360 sh1t D pad...LMFAO!!!!!! so fingers crossed with the pad being so horrible most 360 fans wont buy it (and it'd be a nice kick in the nuts to Namco)

I am defintely not going to buy this game and even though one person doesn't count in sales I wish I could show them it's loyalty that makes it through...
I'm not bit$%n like how many people were about Home and Life With Playstation. I'm truly angry because this is a game I played on Playstation 1 and couldn't even think of it coming to something called the Playstation 3. For it to go out on a new system that just recently made it's huge debut is really sad. It shows their character I guess.. =/

I can't believe that people are still shocked by previously PS exclusive IPs going multiplatform. The industry has changed. Unless the publisher is Sony or MS, I wouldn't expect any third-party titles to be anything but multiplatform. I don't really think this is a shame. So what...Xbox users get to play a new game on their consoles. We are also benefitting from the multiplatform business model as well. Don't forget, we're getting Bioshock (albiet a year later and a little shoddy, but still we're getting it).
Also, news posts have said that we're getting a version of Tekken 6 that is different than the arcade version. It's called Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion, and it's supposed to have additional content. No word on if the 360 will be getting it or just the PS3 yet...

Who cares, its hardly the game of the century, i have tekken on my PS3 and have played it about twice, beat em ups tend to get boaring very quickly, even when it is you and a mate slogging it out, its good short lived fun as is face breaker, soul calibre and fight night and thats about all. let the 360's have it, thats if they run long enough to play it

Now this is too much!!! now you know what I don’t really get it why in h*e_ll one should buy a PS3 yes all the game on ps3 are going to be on X-s_h*i**t so now think if you can buy consol that has all the games for cheep price why to buy one that is expansive ?
This is really too much those devs will sell their family to M$ if they will offer money. I personally won’t buy anything that goes multi anymore I will buy only exclusives and the games that never were exclusive from the start .
And most interesting thing is why Sony lets this happen they are going to lose so hard if not already lost. Sony needs to say to this idiot devs that if you are going to go multi F**_u**ck you!!! I won’t let you develop on ps3 and you can do it only on X-sh*i**t now think who will they choose? They will stay with ps3 because this was an exclusive for so many years and they know its sells and going to new consol will be more dangerous but Sony never does anything .
Seriously thinking now what is that ps3 has better than X360? I don’t really see anything only the specs that we never see used to its full potential and what else personally I love Sony because of games that were on the Playstation not because its Sony and now when all the games that I love are gone to other side what? I’m a gamer and I go to consol that has the games I love now I really think if I got Xbox it would have been the same and cheaper.

i have been doing a little digging around and all these games go mulit-platfom becoz of a companies deep pocket.. M$ is clearly buying these games out but leaving it on the ps3 (and adjusting it so the games play a tiny, just a tiny bit wroster) so it isnt supious and so they dont get fined (like always).. this is step 15 of 21 of M$ world donimation plot, btw google is on step 17 of 22 there both so close of just taking over the world anyway like i said M$ is buying out games and wrecking them 2, so they get more units 360's sold

I really don't know why is everybody so stunned about it... Let's just face it, it's a tendency and all 3rd partys will eventually go multi-plataform if not on this gen, certainly in the next. GTAIV, DMC4, Final Fantasy and many others... Exclusive tittles only 1st partys. The reason of why we only see PS3 3rd pt tittles going into multi plataform is because the Xbox "series" are too young if compaired with Playstation "series" and most of its exclusives are 1st partys.

If it helps you guys that just refuse to accept it. Expect EVERY game except 1st party games to be multiplatform. That way, you won't be surprised anymore. By the way, fighting games suck. I don't see anyone on my friends list playing Soul Calibur anymore.

What I think is weird is that Xbox owners get the 6th iteration of a game...
If they have stayed loyal to M$ in a long time they probably missed Tekken 4, Tag, 5 and that expanded 5 one...
Still, it's a really big dissapointment that Namco would do that :(
Seriously, I thought the arcade version is running on the same specs as the PS3, then how are they going to suddenly switch to the 360!?
And don't give me this crap: "It can make more profit if sold on both consoles...".
Seriously, if a game is good enough it can easily give huge profits if sold on one console! Just start making better games than sell out!

Yes, you can make a massive profit off of one console, but imagine if you diversify and sell it on a different console that has a lot of exclusive users. That's exactly what Namco is doing; they're tapping into a part of the market that they probably would not have had a chance at touching if this would have remained exclusive to the PS3. I have friends that love tekken but hate the PS3 (360 users), and now they have an opportunity to get a great game on their console of choice!
You're telling me that a developer should be satisfied with making perhaps half of the potential revenue from a title by keeping it exclusive? No way man! No way!
It sucks that the PS3 lost another previously-exclusive title, but it is for the better. Everyone gets to play the game. It just means more exposure for the series, more exposure for the developer, and more people having the opportunity to play a great game.
Edit: Was Tekken 6 ever announced as being exclusive to the PS3 in the first place? I honestly don't know and am very curious...

I dont get it somee people here say there gonna buy the game because its so much fun. And know its coming on 360 they dont want it. Nobody cares if its coming for ps3 its about playing the game on your console and nothing else. Sony is not are company so why efen bother. So long as they have the game on ps3 everything is finee.

this reminds me of snes vs sega genesis (only difference was there wasn't any internet back then) the snes would end up getting genesis exclusives ( at least that's what my uncle would tell me) as long as by the end of it the PS3 is winning then it's okay......... that reminds me alot of my friends have been saying they're buy x-boxs because PS3 is too expensive........... I seriously don't know why some of you got upset because of this. This is what's going to happen:
1)Next year all 3rd party games are multiplatform, so everyone's happy and developers have money to feed their families (lol)
2)Then it all comes down to 1st party games on each console. And surprise! Sony has the upperhand in that one. Ever heard of Guerrilla Games, Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch, Santa Monica Studios, Team ICO, Incognito, SOE, Evolution Studios, Media Molecule (yeah!), Zipper Interactive, San Diego Studio, etc. So yeah...
3)M$ is way behind in terms of in-house development studios. I can actually list them... 1-Rare (which everyone knows is out of ideas for new games) and Lionhead Studios (meh)
So why are you guys so worked up about this? Have a little faith in Sony. Hopefully we'll see Microsoft crashing down this generation...

I don't see what the problem here is. Honestly, you shouldn't have to hold games hostage just to get people to buy your console. If the PS3 can't win customers by it's own merits (ie: having allegedly superior graphics and gameplay) then people SHOULD get to choose which console they get to play their favorite games on.
Third party exclusives are lame if you are a gamer and only own one console. First party games are what sell consoles. When one of my favorite series (Ace Combat) went 360 exclusive, I didn't run out and get a 360, I just stopped playing Ace Combat. People who own 360s aren't getting PS3s for MGS4, they are just going to wait for Splinter Cell. You can't bully people into buying a console they don't want.

If Namco Bandai go multiplat because they can reach more markets then why we PS3 owners don't have Tales of Vesperia, a jrpg exclusive on 360, were the jrpg markets clearly favors the PS3 over the 360. So to all of you "this is business, get over it fanboys..." geniuses explain that brilliant move Namco Bandai made.
Now, why do we care and even 360 owners should care about exclusives? Have you seen what EPIC do with UE3 and what other developers do with it (Gears of War vs RS Vegas or Turok), do you see the diference in quality. Exclusive utilize better the hardware resources, we simply don't want moreg ames we want games with the best quality, games that utilizes the PS3 or even the 360 resources in the most efficient way the developers could think of. So that's why multiplat is killing quality, this hunger for profit is killing quality.
Resistance: FoM even tho it didn't have the looks to stand a chance against other FPS, I enjoyed it a lot because the quality was there. Give me quality and the devs will have my stinking money at their feet, try to make more profit and deliver games that ain't all the devs can do and my stinking dollar going the next PS3 exclusive.
