Eidos has unleashed fresh footage of the hotly anticipated Tomb Raider: Underworld, depicting protagonist Lara Croft blasting wave after wave of unscrupulous sailor types on board a huge tanker.

Though outnumbered and outgunned, the ever-dexterous Croft manages to subvert her foes continuous onslaught with her trusty dual pistols and athletic prowess – all from the comfort of a rather skimpy wetsuit, we might add.

Check out the new footage below.

Stay tuned for our review of Tomb Raider: Underworld in the not too distant future.

Is this taken from the game or early code?

Its either me, or she seemed to take no notice of getting shot or nearly blown up, just stands there and takes its.

okay I was really hoping that they would do this right, but after watching this video, I lost hope.  I wanted this game to hold me down until uncharted 2 comes out, but thier is no way im spending $60, on that tragedy, unless the video is over a yera old and they fixed all the issues that were present.  Is it that hard to take a few cues from Uncharted.  If your gonna spend money to make a game at least do it right.

I have been a Tomb Raider fan since the days of PS1, this new Tomb Raider looks promising but there are obviously common game mechanics  that are missing from this video.  From the video it is clear that the developers paid close attention to Lara's athletic prowess which looks really cool, I also liked the subtle blurring effect that gives the game a look of realism, unfortunately the gameplay appears suspect. Today it is almost mandatory to have a cover system during a shooting sequences especially in a 3rd person action adventure yet it appears this was overlooked. The hit detection when she is fighting and shooting looks generics, it almost looks like her blows are going through the enemies with no contact being made also when she and the enemies are shot there seems to be no physics added showing any hit detecton. After Uncharted any other adventure like this really has to bring the goods.

It looks decent in many areas, but what started to ruin the TR series was the constant blast fests against humans. And that red targeting lock is an eye-sore...get rid of it.

Its meant to be an adventure game, not a blooming 3PS. ¬_¬.

I call BS on you guys.  Nathan Drake reacts THE SAME WAY to direct gunfire, except on Uncharted, the screen starts to gray out.  If the screen didn't "gray out", Nathan would look like "Superman", too.  I will give credit to Uncharted that you have to use its cover system.  There doesn't seem to be one here (and that's clearly bad...no argument here).  But no one said anything about her sweet animations (bye bye robot-Lara), or the cool lighting.  I think you guys just prefer the male protagonist.  Too bad for you.  I think this will be a great game.

Whats with this crap, I remember when that last one came out like 4 or 5 years ago. I thought Eidos said it was supposed to be the last one.....clearly money is to be made though.
