Ubisoft has announced that its tactical shooter, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas 2, has sold over two million copies worldwide since its launch last month.
The game’s performance has exceeded expectations, resulting in the publisher raising its profit forecast by EUR 45 million.
Ubisoft CEO and President, Yves Guillemot, commented, "As expected, 2008 is off to be a record year for the videogame market and our games have performed remarkably well in this context.”
"Assassin's Creed and our Games For Everyone brands continued their strong performance and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 had a better than expected start."
"One year after the great success of the first title, the second iteration, which provides another unique multiplayer experience in the much enjoyed Tom Clancy environment, is ranked among the top games on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in almost every country,” he added.

Ugh. You people who bought this game (fo rthe PS3) will never "get it". Thanks for encouraging lackluster development and porting.

Seems like that almost everything Ubisoft releases since late last year seem to be a "profit hit"! Whether it's a good game or not, it makes that millions!
Are there "hidden hypnotic" messages in Ubisoft's advertisements or something?? I mean, I've planned to get R6V2 but I've been waiting around for the Limited Edition! Although, I'm not sure if it'll be release in the EU region?? So, I may have to import it!!! (before it runs out! At this rate, that could be soon!)

I love Vegas 2 offline. Its controls take getting used to but when it goes right its fun to play. Its a big step in the right direction compared to Vegas 1.
It's online where the problems are. If only they put just some of that nice profit into fixing Rainbow Six Vegas 2s online bugs on the Playstation 3, we would all be happy for them to profit off our loyalty.....

I agree, they couldnt have put much effort into this title, it was released about 5 mins after the first one. i am now being very selective when it comes to FPS's as we are being swamped with the damnd things, and a lot of them are VERY second rate. Role on resistance 2

I sold Army of Two and got Vegas 2 instead.. The Singleplayer is quite fun, and the AI have been tweaked since vegas 1.. But IMO COD4 still rules the online scene.. But have to give it to Ubi.. they released Vegas 2 right in time, when people where getting tired of COD4, and there are still a long time to GTAIV and Haze..

Wow, just wow. People must really be looking for the next high profile game to play. R6V2 was not all that good. But, marketing seems to work.

I never bought this game. I refuse to buy broken games and hope patches come out to fix their bad testing.

I wonder if Haze will be just as a big of a hit with PS3 owners. I know I'm getting Haze, but I'm never getting Rainbow Six Vegas 2. With all of these shooters coming out, I'm only buying the PS3 exclusive shooters first for now and I'll buy the second rate 3rd party exclusives like Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and Turok when they are $29.99.

I really don't get why so many people are bashing on this game, the online was fixed and in my opinion it's a lot better than the first one, both offline and (now) online. If somebody says the graphics are bad, guess what graphics don't make a game or if you're talking about bugs and glitches no game is free of them. Frankly I enjoyed the game and that's what a game is supposed to do, plus some people like some games and some people like other games.
