Update: Wardevil gets a new look! First image inside

Developed by the Digi-Guys, Wardevil is a new 3rd person action/sci-fi title exclusively for the PlayStation 3.

Since its last showing, the team at Digi-Guys have been pretty quiet on the game's advancements. We know the game uses a new and sophisticated gaming engine called RTE1080 (real time engine) which allows for 1080p resolution at 60fps. Digi-Guys have stated that they hope to create a visual style that surpasses the look and feel of pre-rendered FMV sequences.

Here is the first look at Wardevil Unleash the Beast Within: (Click Image to enlarge)

As you can see the team has revamped the graphical look of the game, recreating the character giving him a helmet rather than light grey hair. Also you can see that he carries a long spear-like weapon as well as his pistol seen from past tech demos.

This is all the information we have now, but stay tuned as PSU will keep you updated when more details are available.
 
*Update: To gather more information about the image above, we contacted the Digi-Guys and this is what they had to say:
 
"The image is all game material/assets and is part of our final graphical push to get the game looking as close to high-end cinema quality as we can... whilst still running in 1080P (with Dof & Motionblur)." - Digi-Guys Representative

    I like the changes and hopefully they can deliver on 1080p at 60fps.

    I've been looking forward to this game since it was announced.  Too bad it's still over a year from release.

    Wow can't believe this is still being made, i thought it was cancelled. Glad i was wrong iv liked the look of this ever since it was announced a couple of years ago. Hopefully they can pull it off and make a great game. And exclusivity (if thats a word lol) is always welcome ;)

    ive never heard of this game before, what genre is it? hack&slash, rpg or thirdperson shooter? or something in between lol i want more info

    Wonder why Insomniac can produce one quality game a year and others spend 2-3 years on their games? Beyond having some very..very good games the must also be masters in development scheduling!

    is it ingame b/c that flag looks like its in motionblur and so does the fire. anyways looks nice but i liked the old look, i mean he looked badass. i think they should make it 720p and rather use the rest on other detailes and i think they removed his face b/c of the details this gen has to use on the face only. now we fight with a dead guy who talks behind the mask, V for vendetta mask would be awesome b/c you could atleast see expression.

    Look at the concrete debris, really look at it and compare to other games. Even the "straight" and "undamaged" edges don't have that cheap completely flat look other games have, i.e. Call of Duty 4; they are slightly rounded, even if only a little. I just wish they weren't so tight lipped about this game though.

    Great to see this game is still alive. And I'm loving the changes: The grey hair wasn't that great, but the new helmet is badass! That spear is also looking very very cool. I think the graphics may have actually improved since last time... back when they looked like CGI :D Keep it up Digi-Guys!!!

    COME ON. 3rd person action game? it tells me nothing exept theres going to be violence and you wiew the camera from up and behind your character, i want know what the gameplay will be like, shooting ala gears of war or fighting meele or coversystems or something completely new? saying the game is a 3rd person action sci-fi is very meager indeed

    ok of course i can understand if there simply is no more information availible right now, and lol i woudnt bother to comment on an article i havent read, haha woud be lazy indeed, the article was really short ;)

    Well there isnt much info on the game right now. They do have a large Mo-cap studio and are developing a full CGI film outside of the game

    Wow...I've been awaiting this game forever now. If it really looks like that in game then it trumps Killzone. Anyway I preferred the character without the helmet but that spear/glaive looks awesome.

    YES!!! finally some more footage from this game!!! i've been waiting a long, long time for this!!! wardevil is a cool name but i really hope they ditch this "unleash the beast within" thingi. that's just lame.

    1080p graphics and 60 fps... no way in h3ll the Xbox 360 could ever do that IONIXX. and i believe read it is a ps3 exclusive.

    ehhh i dont like it... iono i liked the silver haired guy better... this generic helmet is not that cool... if thats a realtime shot though.... check out those pillars, shading and textures look awesome.
