Koei has revealed plans to release Warriors Orochi 2 on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360 across Europe this fall.

The sequel focuses on the efforts of a new group of warriors as they attempt to thwart the impending return of the Serpent King Orochi, who was presumed defeated in the original game.

A number of storylines will be featured spanning various kingdoms such as Wu, Wei and Shu, as well as a special Dream mode, which will include an entirely separate plot.

The game will also include a two-player versus mode, which features four different match types, and over 90 playable characters, some of which are based on Chinese and Japanese history.

The original Warriors Orochi has sold more than 1.5 million copies worldwide.
