War torn streets in SOCOM: ConfrontationSince the unveiling of the PlayStation 3, gamers have been teased with several color options for the system. Well, the launch has come and long gone, and to the disappointment of many, there has yet to be any option other than black when shopping for a PS3. Well, that may soon change.
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has submitted photos of what appears to be a white 40GB PS3, judging by the two USB ports on the front of the system. While this presentation is in no way confirming the systems existence or announcement, it is, however, the first step in Sony planning on releasing the white PS3 in North America.
Hopefully we will see some new colors this year, but until then, file this one under rumor. Be sure to check back for all the latest.

If you have the money, you have any color you want in the world...heck, you make it unique and make it of textured material (arty)! I bet you could get a real 18k gold models in 'Dubai!! 24k gold MIGHT melt though!!! ;)

yes it will but it will take 20 years for it to get to europe since as well as have no internet connections we are also colour blind.

Black finish is the best for the PS3............But, I'll buy one white Dual shock controller though......

I don't get why everyone is always so hot on these multi-colored Playstation rumors. Was the same with the PS2. If you already have one, are you really going to go out and buy another just because it's white? Hey, I have the $$ to throw away on it, but not for such a silly reason. Anyway, it's cool and all that they offer different colors but surely people realize that colors that don't sell represent lost $$ for Sony? I'm sure they have all kinds of market analysis on colors and what will or won't sell in each market. THAT is the reason they release the consoles in certain ways. I'm betting the white unit won't sell even half what the black ones do. Other colors would fare even worse. The only market that seems to respond well to tons of colors is Japan.
Still waiting for that and the silver. I have the standard black now I need the other two.
The black version might attract fingerprints like no other, but it's the best color for a console.

I would think the silver version is a better bet in North American, than white. Colors aside, Sony needs to bring the dualshock here before spending resources on another color console.

Of course its is WHITE PS3 40 GB, not a surprize for me, in Asia we have it for a while already, looks awesome:) too bad I already got 80GB black but I Dont want 40GB castrated version
