Famitsu has been peering over Sega's shoulder at the 2009 release schedule, and has learned that PlayStation 3 brawler Yakuza 3 (not the already-released Yakuza: Kenzan! prequel) will hit Japan on February 26.

Where Kenzan! took players back to feudal Japan, land of katana executions and fantastically ornate dressing gowns, Yakuza 3 follows on directly from the events of the first two games, with hitman Kazuma Kiryu once again out to bust any number of gangster heads in the fictional present-day city of Kamuro-cho. Expect heaps of GTA-esque sidequests and optional content alongside the beatdowns.

With Killzone 2 also in-bound for February, it's shaping up to be a prosperous spring for Sony.

Kamuro-cho does not refer to a city. It refers to a city district.

Waiting a lot for this game as the previous ones had a great story. =)
