Bethesda’s Vice President of Marketing Pete Hines has confirmed that the PlayStation 3 version of Fallout 3 will not include Trophy support when the game hits stores later this year, but did not rule out the possibility of the feature being added at a later date.

"Not at launch," said Hines, during an interview with PSU.com to be published later today.

"It remains to be seen what we do down the road. It wasn't something we were able to incorporate into the game for launch."

With Fallout 3 set to release on October 28 in the U.S., Bethesda will have a few options in terms of additional PlayStation 3 support, as Sony's PlayStation Home service is set to launch around the same time frame.

Stay tuned for our full interview with Hines later today.

psn id: gingo... as long as games implement trophys within a month of the game being released people will be happy, but if it takes longer the developers have to take a bit of responsibility

I hope its soon, even though the game might be good, i hate doing everything to beat the game and then having to go back to get the trophies.

What ever happened to playing a game for the game itself. Is 100 plus hours of things to do not good enough these days.  It's bad enough every game is going online only multiplayer or online only coop, now you can't play games for the fun of it because you have to achieve some stupid goal to get a trophy.  WTF happened to the good old days of gaming.  Man I'm getting to old for this s***!

this game is gonna rock but for a game of this length adding trophies later on will suck , unless they're retrospective which i doubt they will be

@ 8- Adding trophies adds enormous amounts of replayability to games.  Without trophies, i wouldn't have gone back and beaten Uncharted 3 times after i'd already beaten it once last year.  Some people love trophies and some people don't, but you don't have to b**ch about them because they aren't your thing.  Just play the game.  It doesn't affect your gameplay experience at all if a game supports trophies.  Whatever happened to the good ol' days where people wouldn't go online and complain about additional features being added to games to make them more appeling to some people??

As for me Fallout 3, I will buy this game for sure but not right away.  I'll be too busy with other quality games that are getting released around the same time.  I'm sure by the time I pick it up Bethesda will have taken the necessary steps to implement trophies into the game which will make me a very happy gamer.

Sony need to pick a date, and say any game that comes out after this date HAS to have Trophies, because this is getting riddiculous!

Kinda makes me wish Sony pulled a MS and made it mandatory to put in these sort of things, buuut that would take away from their free & open ideal

    @ 3 :

why would you base your purchase of a game on whether or not it supports something which at this point serves absolutely no purpose

Ah crap why does everything have to fall on oct with lbp, dead space, bioshock, far cry 2, falllout 3, socom + headset. My bank account will have a gaping hole.

Lol hmm either that or il just settle with LBP + the  headset for a while.

Good to hear these games are gettingt patched now, but trophies don't make me want to buy a game off the shelf.
