Konami previously announced that Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 will feature more licensed clubs than ever. Newly acquired club licences include Newcastle United , Tottenham Hotspurs and Spartak Moscow. Newly acquired national squad licences include Brazil, Portugal, Greece, Scotland and Ireland.
"Konami has worked hard to bolster the number of licensed clubs in PES 2008, and the new additions represent a huge step forward for the series," commented Jon Murphy, Pro Evolution Soccer Team Leader for Konami Digital Entertainment. "We listen very closely to what people want from the series, and hope these new additions further extend PES 2008's reputation within both die-hard football fans and newcomers alike."
Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 will be released in mid-October in the United Kingdom and Europe. The game will be released later this year in North America.

Oh my god, the ppl that use this site never fail to amaze me with their stupidity.
Gingo why do you post a comment on every single thread released? Get a grip/life son.. oh yeah an Scotland have always been in the pro evo series. You obviously dont know what your on about ya' doo..
Right and dont get me started with Frankribery07... How can a lack of licences kill a game for f sake, what about the game play. Im assum'in ur a fifa fan? Well in my opinion Fifa is killed by a lack of game play. Its like the balls stuck to your foot and all the goals are the same.
Go back to sleep you pair of numptys..
Gingo I wud love to wipe the floor with you at ISS pro evo... My user ID is Manny_Ray if ur into it, I play warhawk aswell...

God dammit!!! it isn't soccer!!! its FOOTBALL! the FOOT is used to control the BALL!!
Maybe I'll start calling American Football - American handball, cause you don't use your feet so technically it doesn't qualify.
@ manchesterunitedchampions - i hope your not being serious with that question? -

For the UK box design Ronaldo should have least worn the utd kit and why Owen?
'Its like the balls stuck to your foot'
I'm no Fifa fan but the ball being stuck to the player has been in all football games since... well the first. Fifa 08 and last years Fifa 07 the ball had its own physics which I think is a first for a football game. If the player with the ball wants to go left, if you can see it in slow-mo you will see the player animations using his feet to take the ball left with him. I fthe animation wasn't there, the player would leave the ball behind.
I'm not going to take sides here but I'm being honest when I say this and a Pro soccer player for years. That when you watch a vid of Fifa 08 to a vid of Pro Soccer 08, the fifa game looks more closer to watching a real game than Pro Soccer does. In Fifa you see the animation way better, the visuals help, and you see players hold the ball and taking their time passing along the back 4 trying to find space. Everything about Pro Soccer seems to be played at the same pace throughout the whole match in every match. While EA try every year to improve FIFa (EA's only sport franchise where they try to change things for improvement) to make it a better game, Konami do not and its been the same game for years as Konami are afraid of changing anything in case they break it. Pro Soccer is stuck in last-gen and as it was good on PS2, I'm not interested in the new Pro Soccers, it really does look like Pro Soccer 5 with just a bit better visuals and HD. And before people say I'm a Fifa fan, I probably won't get Fifa 08 either. I'm just saying that EA are moving the franchise forward.
