Insomniac Games Is Still Reportedly Working On A Standalone Venom Game

Marvel’s Wolverine developer Insomniac Games is still beavering away on its long-rumoured standalone Venom game, according to respected insider NateTheHate.

“Venom is very much still in development, upon last check. As to when it’ll be announced, I don’t know,” said the tipster. In case you haven’t been keeping up with Insomniac’s pipeline, a Venom game was previously leaked as part of a major ransomeware attack on the company back in 2023, which revealed a roadmap for the developer that claimed the project was due out in 2025 ahead of Marvel’s Wolverine, which is out this month.

In addition to Venom (titled as Venom: Lethal Protector), the roadmap also stated Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 is due out in 2028, followed by a new Ratchet & Clank game in 2029 and an X-Men title in 2030. Venom obviously hasn’t come out yet and and Insomniac Games is sitting on an official reveal, but with Nate’s latest comments, it appears the project is still very much alive.

Back in September last year, MP1st reported that Marvel’s Wolverine would launch in 2026 (this was obviously correct), while the Venom project was still in development. Furthermore, a source told the site that Eddie Brock would be Venom this time around, something which was depicted in the comics and the films Spider-Man 3 and Venom.

Insomniac Games has yet to announce a Venom game, so take all this info with a pinch of salt for now.
