Insomniac Games is set to continue its run of Marvel titles, with Marvel’s Wolverine now aiming for a 2026 release window. The project was first announced in 2021, and while Sony and Insomniac have not confirmed a specific date, reports state development is progressing as planned. The game is expected to deliver a darker and more mature tone compared to the studio’s Spider-Man series.
In addition, the Venom project is still under development. Eddie Brock will lead the story, shifting focus from Peter Parker and Miles Morales. Reports show Anti-Venom will appear alongside Brock. Meanwhile, Carnage, also known as Cletus Kasady, will serve as a major villain. These details come from credible sources, but Insomniac and Sony have not confirmed them.
As a result, Wolverine’s timeline sets the pace for PlayStation’s Marvel slate. A 2026 launch would make it one of the platform’s major exclusives following Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. At the same time, Venom is progressing behind the scenes, with story elements and characters gradually revealed.
If both projects meet development goals, Insomniac could create a multi-title Marvel universe on PlayStation. Wolverine promises a darker, more mature story, while Venom introduces fan-favorite characters. Therefore, Wolverine remains the studio’s next headline launch, while Venom’s release date has yet to be announced.
