HTSA to support Blu-ray exclusively

The Home Theater Specialist of America (HTSA), which represents 62 home theater installers/retailers, generating $500M in sales, recently reported that they will now support Blu-ray as their primary high definition movie format. This move comes from an internal survey which reveals that 92% of HD players sold were Blu-ray while the remaining 8% was HD-DVD or some combo players.
President of Consumer Sales for Sony, Jay Vandenbree, went on to explain the move by HTSA, "At a time when ever-changing technology tests just how much one can know about everything, HTSA has chosen Blu-ray Disc as the format they support. I think it speaks volumes when support comes from those who specialize in home theater, and are closest to the consumer."
HTSA’s move to support Blu-ray only shows the strength that the format is gaining within the industry each day. Because the PlayStation 3 supports Blu-ray, its success as a whole could mean a great future for PS3. Stay with PSU as we will continue to provide you with the latest developments regarding Blu-ray in the market.

So what..if I hire any of these guys they wont install my system or build my HT unless I buy a Blu Ray Disc player? I dont really get that. They are an assoiciation of designers and builders. I mean, I wouldnt know much about hiring people to build theaters, I take care of my own. But still, what does that REALLY mean?

I believe that this group is a specialty group of High End installers. Their members would be called by people who don't have the time but have plenty of cash. They want a built in home Theater with all the trimmings. Usually trimmings cleverly hidden out of view. Good news for the Blu-ray side. Bad news for the dark side.

I heard that Hassan Poulos the Greek guy down the road who owns the TV & HiFi shop in Swansee shopping mall is going to put a Bluray player on display and try and sell them. He said he wont have a HD-DVD on display. Add this to the 62 businesses in America selling Bluray and that surely means game over for the other formats right?
I mean worst case that counter balances Universal Pictures, Dreamworks, and Paramount Pictures exclusively making HD-DVD movies and the official format selected by the Government of China. Who cares what Warner Bros does now - let em cross to HD-DVD so long as the home cinema association with its 62 members "generally prefers" to install Bluray players if the customer asks for it right?
Funny PR spin being dumped on a games console site - what does it mean? Big woop.

wait a sec. is this a website about video games or movies? It seems as though a lot of PS3 'fans' have now become Blu-Ray fans / movie buffs. Could it be because being a PS3 gaming fan is getting to be somewhat difficult?
Thing that make you go hmmmm...
