Meijer Online to exclusively support Blu-ray

A recent internal review at retailer Meijer has shown that Blu-ray titles have been outselling HD DVD titles by a 4-to-1 margin.

This was apparently enough of a reason for company to announce that they would no longer be selling HD DVD titles in their online store. Furthermore, Meijer will also be expanding their Blu-ray online catalog to 300 titles (almost the full Blu-ray catalog)

This does not mean that they may add HD DVD titles back into stock, but right now, consumer spending shows that HD DVD is simply not in high enough demand for the time being.

Meijer is a retail chain similar to that of Target and Wal-Mart in Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Kentucky. Their online store can be accessed by going to meijer.com

    Sweet, looks like Blu-Ray is doing better than I thought. The HD-DVD camp is going to have to open thier wallets again if they expect to remain in this market for much longer.

    @Uncool

    Do you have a HD DVD player? And a Blu Ray player or something? In no way am I sticking up or defending Blu Ray, but what is "actually going in favor of blu ray" supposed to mean? Wasn't it obvious a few MONTHS ago?

    Great news...lol, I shop at Meijer every week.  They sell cases of Pepsi and Coke for $3.99  You can't beat that!

    I noticed that they had an equal # of Blu-rays and HD-DVD's a few months ago, but yesterday when I was there, their Blu-ray section was MUCH larger, and they only had a few HD-DVD's left...thought this might happen.

    Another coin in Blu-ray's pocket.  Why HD DVD is still around, I don't know.  The heads at Microsoft must be going crazy right now.

    Blu-Ray is looking pretty good at the mo, only yesterday i poped into my local HMV to find that the Blu-ray shelf space is far greater than the HD-DVD. Its been  growing and growing as time goes by, it speaks volumes and you cant ignore it

    There is still so much politics involved in the battle for supremecy of the HD dispute, though BD is showing incredible promise and dominance at the moment...I noticed that HD-DVD has not done much in marketing, promoting or even support their product!?! Are they still doing their research and developing something even bigger? Maybe their waiting for a better timing just before xmas or very early in the new year? Because it is apparent that they do have money to blow, they may be preparing for the biggest battle and unleash mass destruction onto the public!!! This may sound scary, but it 'could' happen...to us!!! Just like those movies where it looks like the good guys have won, then suddenly....BAM!!!!
