Welcome to Round 5 of the Member Spotlight. After a lot of votes, I ended up deciding on interviewing Gingo for this installment. A lot of you cried out to hear from the comment king and thus, here he is. He seems to be a modest guy with not a lot to say, but you’ll take what you can from this and enjoy it, right? We did this interview a tad different due to mass location differences, but it came out well regardless of that. Enjoy it guys and feel free to comment below.
Dave Wales: Gingo, you seem to be all over the comment section like it’s your house, is it?
Gingo: Well, I would class it as my “house” on psu.com as that’s where you will find me the majority of the time.
Dave Wales: We can always count on you making an appearance, that’s for sure. I noticed you seem to have gathered your own little following of supporters throughout the comment section, how do you feel about that?
Gingo: Well, when I first joined and started commenting regularly and leaving “psn id: gingo…” in every one of my comments, other people left snide remarks about that because it was something new but I was only trying to get more friends to play online with as I had just recently got my ps3. Then it went through a phase where people just copied me but instead of putting their own name put mine, which I thought was strange. Recently I’ve got more people following me but using their own name which is good for the psu community. I was a little surprised to be honest about the support I was getting from people to get this interview but it feels good to be recognized even though recognition is not something I comment on the articles for.
Dave Wales: I wasn’t here when all of that first started so I can’t really comment on it too well. You’re very active throughout the commenting section, but aren’t really a forum regular, do you have any reasoning for that at all?
Gingo: I like commenting on the news more than the forums as I feel more part of psu.com than I do of ps3forums.com even though they are a part of the same website. Psu.com was the first playstation only gaming website I found and it is my main source of gaming news for the ps3; whereas the forums I only use if I am in need of help or I see someone with a problem I can help them with. I don’t really have an in and out reason for not posting on the forums as much, I just personally prefer commenting on the news.
Dave Wales: Well, we’re sure the news wouldn’t be the same without your expected contribution. Where does gaming fit into your life and how often do you get to enjoy it?
Gingo: Gaming is, has and always will be a big part of my life for a long time to come. I am hoping to go to university after school to do a game’s development course which will hopefully lead to a job as a game developer/programmer. At the moment I get quite a good amount of time to enjoy games but with exams in May that will get cut down dramatically, however once they are finished, I will have the whole summer to enjoy MGS4, GTAIV and Haze, which I am quite looking forward to.
Dave Wales: Glad to see all the constant delays haven’t pushed you out of the hype for a couple of those titles like they have for some. The developer field seems to be gaining a lot of popularity as of late. What genre of gaming fits your needs best and what’s your favorite game from that area?
Gingo: Action/Adventure/Platformer games or FPS are my two favourite genres, at the moment I would have to say Uncharted is my favourite Action/Adventure/Platformer closely followed by Rachet and Clank, while COD4 is my favourite FPS.
Dave Wales: It seems as though everyone is on that Call of Duty 4 wagon and wait until you check out ... (continued on next page)

Yeah, this guy is on everything....would be funny if he didnt post on his own interview. It is kinda nice that he puts his PSN id everytime, but i think most people have thier account name on PSU the same as thier PSN anyway. (i do: nominal266)

psn id: gingo.... thank you, i'm glad people were pleased with it... as Dave said it had to be done differently which maybe wasn't ideal but it worked nonetheless
@jomi294..... those are excellent ideas and if i had been thinking clearly i could have put them but i would suggest them on the forums because a reply button especially would be a good feature

@ Gingo... hey m8 I enjoyed your thoughts expressed towards PSU.com. I also see you changed your display picture, are you tired of BLACK? I'm scotish aswell but I was born in canada and currently reside in Canada.
@ Dave.... I enjoy these member spotlight articles alot. It's a great way to interact and include the community in PSU.com. I like listening to fellow commenters i see on the forum or comment section each day. Keep up the great work.
EDIT: While viewing PSU.com on my PS3. Gingo's dp is Crash Bandicoot, but when I log on my comp. I see his dp is the usuall "Black" logo (the FPS from PS2).
