Eidos announced today that the Kane & Lynch: Dead Men ‘The Dope Bag’ map pack would be released on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live on April 17, 2008.

The map pack will be available free to owners of the game and will contain a total of four different maps as part of an extension to the title’s Fragile Alliance multiplayer mode.

Kim Krogh, Lead Game Designer at IO Interactive, commented, "With Fragile Alliance we set out to offer gamers a new experience in co-op multiplayer, giving players the choice to work as a team or backstab their teammates and work for themselves at any moment.”

"The response to Fragile Alliance has been fantastic and these new maps will serve to grow the Fragile Alliance online community even further."

Each map features its own unique concept; for example, “Clean Cut” has you vanquishing a group of drug dealers along with the Russian Mafia at an LA construction site, while “Flying High” centres on a raid at a drug baron’s mansion in Venezuela.

Stay tuned.

Glad to hear it's FREE!  Why can't CoD4 do something like this for millions of players??  Here we have Eidos giving 4 new maps for free (although, I don't have any friends who play this game) and Infinity Ward will be charging us to play on some refurnished maps from previous series maps?!?  What gives?  As much as I like their games, they sure are pretty greedy when they make huge profits from gamers who actually support them!!

I think they are making it free because the game isn't as big as COD4.

Okay, this game was terrible on the PS3, 360 and PC. So it pretty much is terrible on all platforms. Although the 'Fragile Alliance' multiplayer sounded really good but it was very very bad on this game. =-]

UT3 is big and was free, and I think CoD4 is not free because Microsoft won't let them. I do remember a statement where they want these packs at a cost, since this game isn't so big I'm guessing they let it slip.

K&L had a few issues, but it was entertaining.  There are a few levels that I go back to and play when I have a few minutes to kill.  The multiplayer was rather weak.  I like the concept, but getting the dough was too easy.
