It's been a little over a year since Harmonix rocked the music genre scene with their critically acclaimed, Rock Band. The title, which offered gamers the opportunity to play with more than just a guitar and a single buddy, allowed the usage of drums, guitars, bass and singing in order to create your own personal rock band. While the music scene had been dominated by Guitar Hero and DDR to an extent, both titles had never seen a boom like the one created by Harmonix.
Fast forward 13 months and Harmonix is proud to announce that with No Doubt's album release on December 11, they will surpass the 500 song benchmark for their product. That's correct. Harmonix will have released over 500 songs to gamers world wide and that's without the addition of country songs coming in the next couple of weeks. For those of you who may remember, Harmonix had set this goal for themselves to be achieved by the end of the year. However, they have reached the milestone with a couple of weeks to spare.
Adding onto this impressive feat, Harmonix has also reported that Rock Band has received 28 million song downloads. This is only furthered by the fact they only reported six million songs downloaded on March 20 of this year. That means, in a little over eight months, gamers have downloaded 22 million songs to enjoy.
PlayStation Universe would like to congratulate Harmonix on these accomplishments and we look forward to whatever is to come from the groundbreaking company.

Harmonix created Guitar Hero, then perfectised it with the sequel. Then Neversoft screwed it up with GH3, while Harmonix revolutionised music simulation gaming with Rock Band. Then they perfectised that product with RB2, while Neversoft made a dissapointing attempt at a band game with GH:WT.
Just to make a long story short. Guitar Hero WAS better... untill the original developers made Rock Band instead.

Other than all of the misspellings Triple DK is right. Harmonic knows how to make an incredible music simulation game. GH2 is still my favorite guitar hero after playing all of the others, and RB2 is better than all of the guitar heroes. Good Job Harmonix, keep it up.

Guitar Hero's a rip off... £4.39 FOR 3 SONG PACK!?!, and this is why Rock Band is superior
