In the February 09 issue of Official PlayStation Magazine (Killzone 2 review cover), a few old rumors are revived including talk of the PlayStation Portable 2, and a PSP port of Evolution Studios’ MotorStorm.
In addition, the publication also mentions a couple of new rumors, including talk of F.E.A.R. 3 and E3 09 playing host to a big MMO announcement from Square Enix.
Here are some of OPM's rumors:
- First PSP2 games are in development and will appear as early as 2010
- Square Enix is to announce a new MMO at this year's E3 09
- The PSP version of MotorStorm is likely to hit later this year
- F.E.A.R. 3 is already underway
- LEGO Harry Potter is in development
If there are PSP2 games already in the works and the new platform is to release as early as 2010, we should expect an announcement from Sony sometime this year, hopefully at E3.

all i want is 2 anolog sticks, 4 shoulder buttons, and a full ps2 emulator. I think they need to go the way of the iphone and include a large amount of flash memory, like 32gb at least, and then just do everything digital distrubution. that way they wont loose money from used game sales.

The PSP2 should fix a lot of things wrong with the PSP right now and add more features as well. The next PSP should include...
*Two Analog Nubs: It has always been weird playing games with only one analog nub on the PSP, especially First-Person Shooters.
*Friends List: Much like the PS3, the next PSP should integrate a friend's list function so that you can see what your friends are playing and so that the PSP could also be a more social tool.
*Trophy Support: Trophy Support can certainly help make a decision of what game to buy. Plus, you can connect it to your PSN account via la internet.
*Sixaxis Tilt?: While it wouldn't be necessary, it would be nice to have a tilt function like the SixAxix of the PS3 controller, that way it really could feel like you were playing your PS3 on the go. Plus, it could have some cool features in games.
*NO Touchscreen: The next PSP should NOT feature touch screen so that useless shovelware can stay off the PSP. Plus, most people already own either an IPhone/IPod Touch or a DS.
*R2/L2: The more buttons on the PSP, the better (as long as it doesnt have TOO much buttons).
*Internal Harddrive: Sure, Memory sticks are cheap now, but with an internal harddrive there would be no need to buy one, right? Right?
*Stick with the UMD (or new format): As long as it's not solely downloadable off the PSStore as some people were hoping for. Some people like having a tangible copy of the game right in their hands (like me). Plus how would downloading a game make it any less difficult to pirate? -
