MTV Games, Harmonix and EA have staple gunned a release date to the upcoming European conversion of Rock Band 2 for PlayStation 3, announcing that the music simulation romp will hit stores on the week beginning March 23.

The PS3 version will be joined by a PlayStation 2 iteration during the same week, with a Wii release following in April. The game hit Sony’s black box in North America last year.

Punters should also be on the look out for the Rock Band Instrument Edition and Rock Band software for PS3/360, which can be purchased together for approximately £119.99 GBP. Additionally, Rock Band instruments can now be snapped up for the following price:

- Stand alone guitars will retail at £39.99 GBP.
- Stand alone drums will retail for £49.99 GBP.
- An "Instrument Edition" including drums, guitar and microphone will retail for £89.99 GBP.

Better never than late. The delay and timed exclusive nonsense has killed my interest in this game.

Would be getting no money from me. NO pissant excuse will justify their reason to have such a long delay. I'll put my money towards Guitar Hero Metallica.

Does this include Australia PSU? Because we got Rock Band 1 too late and many people bought Emo Hero: World Tour instead because "the drums are better". I very much prefer Rock Band but the wait we had for the first one was ridiculous. I imported it 6 months before it was released here. I would import 2 but the Dollar is so low here. Stupid financial crisis

The problem is they chose to waste so much time that they killed their own euro market. Waiting all this time is causing a backlash effect which is why an inferrior game has sold so much more.

Europe - I know you're mad but dont rush out and buy an inferior rip off (guitar hero) just to spite Harmonix and EA for making you wait so long, You're better off not buying it or just buying RB1 rather than making a protest purchase.

I don't like Metallica either.  Anyway, what I came here to say was, why did it take so long for Rock Band 2 to go to Europe anyway?  I can understand why PS3 owners got it late (Micro$oft being Micro$oft), but why Europe?  I bet their excuse is that they had to localize the game from American English to British English or something stupid like that.

You are correct sir. Best thing is to import stuff. This should be always mentioned in any gaming news regarding releases. It's simple and fast. Also when ordering from US, you usually save about 30% from the game compared to buying from a local store.

I still don't understand why people wait forever for games they could buy earlier online!?
