Brutal Legend to get DLC, will be "something awesome"

Double Fine has confirmed heavy metal adventure Brutal Legend will indeed feature some form of downloadable content, though wasn’t quite ready to let the cat out of the back in regards to what players can expect to get for their hard earned cash.

In fact, all that studio founder Tim Schafer would divulge on the matter is that it’d contain “Something awesome,” during a brief chat with VG247 at Electronic Arts’ spring event in London last month. A PR rep was quick to set the record straight, adding, “we’re not talking about any of that stuff right now.”

Smart money says the DLC will likely include extra music tracks given the nature of the game, though as it stands the soundtrack has still yet to be finalised. Brutal Legend is due out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in fall 2009, with players assuming control of a roadie named Eddie Riggs, voiced by hollywood actor Jack Black .

It always has been business.  But thanks to things like Live, which charged gamers for something that was normally free, gamers themselves paved the way to be nickel and dimed.  Publishers realized gamers would pay, so now they charge.

At least in the old days they waited until they had enough content for and actual expansion pack.  Not to mention those actually added gameplay elements as well.  The only company that seems to care about their work now days is Criterion, but other devs won't follow suit if they can make easy money releasing countless costume packs and "Vs" modes for $5.

Why not include that 'awesomenes' in to the game?
tip: don't start talking about dlc when the game is not even out. That's just annoying.
