UPDATE:

False alarm, it seems. Sony Europe has since issued the following comment during an interview with Connected Consoles:

“As demonstrated recently at GDC, LittleBigPlanet has been shown as an example of how an existing game could benefit from PlayStation Move Motion Controller support. This is not a confirmation of LittleBigPlanet 2, and we do not have any announcements to make about the LittleBigPlanet franchise.”

ORIGINAL ARTICLE:

Did you enjoy LittleBigPlanet? Of course you did. Fancy a sequel? Yes? Well, if a report filed on Dutch website tweakers is anything to go by, you could be in luck – apparently, LittleBigPlanet 2 is in the works and will supposedly incorporate PlayStation Move functionality.

Check out the translation below, courtesy of the folks at VG247. The news itself comes from the mouth of a Sony marketing boss in Benelux, who confirmed the existence of the Media Molecule sequel.

"In an earlier video appeared online, talk Folkert Langeveld of Sony Computer Entertainment Benelux Move on the PlayStation and the strategy that Sony uses for the motion controller as well as possible in the market to turn. He mentions some titles here that will be suitable for Move.

Most notable is the decision of the marketer that Little Big Planet 2 will support the Move. Sony has not been hurried on a sequel to the platform game from Media Molecule. The ruling appears to indicate that Langeveld Little Big Planet 2 already in development. Sony took earlier this year on development studio Media Molecule. They were responsible for the first part of Little Big Planet
."

Rest assured we'll have more information on this development as it becomes available to us. Keep in mind that a formal announcement has yet to be made, so we're filing this under rumor just to be safe. Stay tuned.

    "1 DLC will be compatible"

     Me too.

To be honest, unless its a completely different game like 3d rather than 2.5d, instead of a sequel, i would prefer them to gradually improve the first one, as MM have said they will do.

From what I have heard they are putting PS move support on the LBP, not the sequel.

    pretty lame

they should just add motion control support to the existing game or as a DLC package. What exactly are you getting for $60 that the original or GOTY version doesn't have? Because some new levels and motion control support isn't worth $60...

I would also like to know what\\\\\\\'s going to be in the sequel. Honestly, the only information we have is Move support? Like a previous poster said, I\\\\\\\'m not willing to spend sixty dollars on addiction content and levels and move support.

Niiiiice, I liked the first and will most likely buy the 2nd one....but as others have said, why not just incorporate Move into LBP?

Can't see what the point of a sequel would be since it's more about user created levels than anything else. Unless they go fully 3D and get rid of the 2.5D idea which is just horrible seems to be a pointless excersice.

LBP 2 with motion support isn't saying much. LBP 2 with insanely easy to use tools for user created levels and Open world 3D creation to name is something.

I rather they keep, LBP and just support it with constant updates. A DLC that supports motion control is good enough.
