The new trailer for Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands looks like a return to the ‘classic’ Sands of Time era, with a mixture of fluid platforming and combat. The trailer simply looks great. It has everything we expect from a Prince of Persia game, levels filled with traps, a sexy ghostly-figure, sword fighting, and skeletons.
The video also reveals the game’s Collector Edition for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Both will feature codes to download Prince of Persia Classic, bonus in-game content, sand wraith skin, Malik skin, and a DVD. As this is the European trailer, the Collector Edition may only be for that region.
The game is set for release on May 18.

i loved the previous Prince of Persia for PS3... I for one am upset that they're not finishing off the story from Prince of Persia Epilogue. The last game was beautiful, moving, and imo a lot of fun to play. The graphics in this new PoP look like PS2 graphics to me :/

"no novelty in gameplay, wicked undead and demons we've seen 100s of times, most likely lots of combat
already a miss for me"

A huge fan of the Prince of Persia series; this is the game what got me into free-running. Along with minor contributions from Assassin's Creed, the original Prince of Persia raised my awareness of the 'sport' as a child. Now, when I see the Prince performing acrobatics in the trailer, they feel so familiar, and bring back a lot of memories.
I too loved the last game, just as much as the rest of the series. The fighting was innovative and they platforming mechanics were enhanced to give an outstanding twist to the realistic manoeuvres of the Sands of Time series; something that can only be done in a game. The artwork was astounding, despite me initially not taking a likeness to it.
Long story short, I could write about my love for Prince of Persia all day, but will always comfortably sit amongst the greatest fans of the series - as well as the games sitting amongst my greatest games of all time.
@8 I assume they will return to the rebooted series, they're just making a brief diversion back to the Sands of Time series; I believe the two distinct series will run in parallel to eachother, much like how Infinity Ward/Treyarch will alternate between Modern Warfare sequels and stand-alone titles. That way, they can satisfy the huge Prince of Persia fans that love all of their work, whilst tending to those that only admired the Sands of Time series.
