Castle Crashers finally has a release date in North America. The PlayStation Network game is getting released in the US, Canada, and Mexico on Aug. 31.

The game has been in development for about a year and a half for the PS3, according to a post on the PlayStation Blog from Dan Paladin, co-founder of The Behemoth. The game was originally released on the Xbox Live Arcade back in August 2008 and became Arcade’s best-selling title of the same year.
The game will set you back $15 USD. As for a European release, Paladin said, “We are still in submission for that region. But we will certainly announce when we have a date.”

@ everyone who already said some varation of this and to the people who eventually will, OMG THIS GAME ALREADY CAME OUT ON 360 AND IM AN INSECURE LITTLE CHILD WHO HAS PLEDGED HIS UNDYING LOYALTY TO A !@#$!@# GAME COMPANY. If it's a good game and you like it buy it, no one gives a crap about your unhealthy attatchment to an electronical device that mirrors radical religious views.

@3 It has a new volley ball mode, and a new store for insane mode and couple of new trophies, if you care about that sort of thing. Plus it doesn't matter if it was on another system it's just hitting this one and since they have to port it over expecting a budget price in unrealistic from a business standpoint.

@5 I don't care for trophies and I don't care which system it already came out for. I just lost interest in it because of the wait.........However, it doesn't mean I won't buy the game at all; it just means as of right now, I rather spend my money else where.....I might pick it up later on

@6 I feel you man, I don't care about trophies either. I do want castle crashers though cause there isn't much online I'm interested in playing with other people. I really really don't get why scott pilgrim isn't online or why when you level up a character to max there isn't a harder difficulty setting so you don't run around killing every enemy with 1 or 2 hits. once you're on max it's lame even on Supreme Master setting. rant over
