Ubisoft announced today that the 1/4"-to-USB Real Tone Cable, which connects any guitar to a PC or gaming console, will be available separately for $29.99.

The availability of the Real Tone Cable allows for audio recording on a PC at 48 kHz with a quick release so that all of the equipment can be safe while connecting to a PC. This interesting cable also allows for simultaneous split-screen cooperative play in Rocksmith on consoles and PC.

Rocksmith is set for release on October 11 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

I'm a complete newcomer to playing guitar (although i own one and have meant to take lessons, but neglected them due to other time constraints), but it'd be nice to replace guitar hero while developing ACTUAL guitar skills
