Heavy Rain developer Quantic Dream has reaffirmed its commitment as a long-term Sony platform developer, even going so far as to admit it would be open to the possibility of joining the SCE Worldwide Studios family.
Chatting with IGN, co-founder David Cage was quick to point out that such a move would be philosophically driven as much as financially.
“”We’re open to all options, but again, we’re not a studio driven by money, said Cage.
“It’s an important element, of course, but it’s not like ‘Tell me how much money you give me and I’m going to do whatever you want.’
“But what matters to us is, ‘what is the project, what is the long-term vision, do we share common vision for the studio?’ We’re really passionate, it’s not just me, there’s a team behind me that’s incredibly talented and passionate about what we’re doing, what could be the vision for the studio. And if all this makes sense, then yeah, why not joint Sony or another partner. We’re open to all options.”
For now however, Cage was keen to note that the team is very much committed to PlayStation 3.
“We are exclusive to Sony right now, so no, we work only on PlayStation 3.”
Quantic Dream this week unveiled a gorgeous tech demo by the name of Kara running in real-time on PS3 hardware. Be sure to check it out if you haven't already done so.

This is as good as a done deal after seeing Kara. There's no way Sony will turn down the chance to snap these guys up, and now that QD have gone on record saying they#re open to it, it's just a matter of time. :D

Don't see a need to buy them out. Just a waste of money for a developer putting out very little (next to none) games. Sony would be better off just buying the game exclusivity.
