PlayStation Vita RPG Persona 4: The Golden will be released in North America in fall 2012, Atlus has announced.

The game was previously confirmed for a June 15 release in Japan, though up until now no mention was made of a western launch.

Expanding on the original PlayStation 2 release, The Golden adds a boatload of fresh content, including a new character, anime cut-scenes, and roughly 1.5x more dialogue than before.

Preceding The Golden’s U.S. release will be Persona 4 Arena, due out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in August. Unfortunately, The Golden has yet to attract a European publisher, though we’ll be sure to keep you updated.

Sony and Atlus should make a special edition Vita with a simple but sleek P4-themed skin or recolor bundled with the game, and no doubt I'd drop the cash to buy it.
