PlayStation Vita has enjoyed another sales surge in its native Japan this past week, with the handheld platform shifting just over 22,600 units thanks to the launch of the Crystal White SKU.

It’s been well documented that Sony’s new portable games device has struggled since an initially successful launch period in December 2011.

PS Vita has frequently been outsold by both PS3 and PSP in recent months, though lately things seemed to have picked up thanks to the launch of some new, high-profile titles.

The latest hardware charts show that PS Vita has once again come out on top over its predecessor and console cousin, though 3DS still rules the roost with just over 65,000 units sold.
