The bookies have started taking bets on the U.K’s Christmas no.1 videogame, and perhaps unsurprisingly, the odds are in Call of Duty: Black Ops II’s favour.

Paddy Power and Ladbrokes have both placed the Activision military shooter ahead of other big-name contenders such as FIFA 13, New Super Mario Bros U, Assassin’s Creed III and Halo 4.

“It would be one of the upsets of the year if Black Ops didn’t land the top spot this Christmas,” said Ladbrokes’ Alex Donohue.

Christmas 2011’s no.1 went to Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, marking the first time in eight years that the spot wasn’t occupied by a game published by Electronic Arts or Activision. Will we see another game muscle in on Call of Duty's chart dominance this year? Only time will tell.

See below for the odds from Paddy Power and Ladbrokes.
