GungHo Online acquires Grasshopper Manufacture

Goichi Suda’s studio Grasshopper Manufacture has been snapped up by GungHo Online Entertainment.
Just in case you aren’t aware of GungHo, the company developed titles such as Hero’s Saga Laevatein Tactics and Puzzle & Dragons, plus own the popular MMORPG Ragnarok Online.
Details of the acquisition weren’t divulged, though a brief press blurb released by GungHo says that the firm’s experience in online gaming combined with Grasshopper’s own development capabilities will allow both studios to produce high-quality content.
Grasshopper of course is best known for producing cult hits such as Shadows of the Damned and Lollipop Chainsaw. The company is currently working on Killer is Dead, a spiritual successor to Killer7 and No More Heroes.
