Assassin’s Creed Rogue is this year’s PS3 game, will continue Kenway storyline

Ubisoft will pull the veil off Assassin’s Creed: Rogue, the long-rumored PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 entry in the franchise supposedly due out later this year, at Gamescom in mid-August.

That’s at least according to the latest gossip over at GameVerb, who claims that the game will be centered around locations from Assassin’s Creed III and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag in the year 1758.

Naval warfare will also purportedly return and feature as a major component in Rogue, and will feature an as-yet unnamed Templar character. Haytham Kenway and Adewale from ACIII and Black Flag, respectively, are expected to appear in the new title.

Ubisoft has confirmed it intends to release an Assassin’s Creed game for PS3 and Xbox 360, though has yet to unveil any official details on the project. However, chatter on the game dates back to March, where it was known as Assassin’s Creed: Comet.

In addition to Rogue, Ubisoft is also bringing Assassin’s Creed to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in the shape of Assassin’s Creed Unity, which takes place during the French Revolution.
