DIY Wizard Has Made A ‘Stunning’ PS5 Out Of Brass

Matthew Perks, a YouTube and DIY expert, has managed to cobble together himself a Sony PS5 out of brass by stripping down the Digital Edition version of the console and then using the material to recreate its curves and exterior parts.

Speaking in a video post on his channel, Perks went about the process by firstly making a template for the curved, black exterior of the PS5 on paper. This was then cut out, attached to the brass and trimmed to match. He then bent the brass manually to replicate the original curves of the console, which he noted “takes ages to do accurately” but resulted in a near-replica.

Perks explained that he ran into the most problems when creating the side panels. “I [was] quite sceptical about being able to recreate these with brass, as they’re such unusual shapes with opposing curve directions on each axis,” he said. “Despite trying for an hour, it just looks awful and nothing close to what I need.”
